PXE-E61 Media Test Failure Error For Intel® Desktop Boards For Desktop

Pxe-e61 media test failure check cable

check cable
error e61 media test failure check cable

The following errors are displayed when you start your Intel® motherboard:

PXE-E61: Media test failure, verification cable.
PXE-M0F: Exit Intel Boot Agent.
Why do you see it?

PXE (Preboot eXecution Environment) is a boot environment that allows the Intel motherboard to boot using a network interface, instead of booting from an installed hard disk. You can enable or disable PXE boot in the BIOS.

If a PXE boot is enabled in the BIOS, PXE-E61 and PXE-M0F errors can occur when both are full:

A bootable hard disk is not detected.
A network cable is not connected to the Intel motherboard.

How to solve the problem

If a disk is installed

Check that the drive is detected in the BIOS:

Press F2 during boot to enter the BIOS setup.
Go to the start menu.
Check the boot drive order.
Press F10 to exit the BIOS setup.
If the boot device indicatesNo boot drive:
Check that the disk is correctly installed in the computer.
Try to install another well known disc.
If PXE boot is enabled in the BIOS To check the BIOS option:
Press F2 during boot to enter the BIOS setup.
Go to the Boot Menu Check and Start on Network.
Press F10 to exit the BIOS setup.
If you do not plan to boot to a network, disable this option.

If you do not want to start on a network, check that the network cable connection is working properly.
